Frankfurt Airport is the fourth busiest airports in Europe and is currently adding a third Terminal. So much development within an airport generates greater passenger numbers and higher airport activity, however with such development comes more ground handling complexity and the need for higher precision and efficiency throughout airside logistics.
The new Colibri lithium battery, will – besides the already operating onboard charged Trepel Champ 70 battery – be installed into Mulag Comet 6 ground handling vehicles. Colibri Lithium batteries were built for very demanding and intense schedules since it can be charged on the go or during breaks.
Ground support equipment vehicles would no longer have the need to have their batteries replaced a few times a day, which allows the GSE vehicles to be in use 24/7.
